Call for local government elections in Balochistan through media engagement

Event Description

The term of Balochistan’s local government institutions had expired on Jan 27 2019 and under the laws the polls were supposed to be held by the last week of May 2019.Polls should have been held within 120 days after the expiry of the LG bodies’ term under Section 16 (2) of the Balochistan Local Government Elections Act 2010.But the Balochistan government wanted the polls to be delayed for unidentified time under the pretext of amending the local government law.

CPDI and Welfare Empowerment Board (WEB) are jointly organizing a press briefing at Press Club Dhadar to request the Provincial Government to conduct local Government election as soon as possible
