Event Description

The tenure of local governments expired on August 28, 2019 in KP. According to Section 219 of Elections Act 2017, fresh polls should have been held within 120 days of the expiry of the term of the existing local bodies. However, the provincial government did not conduct elections in the timeframe and the local government system is dysfunctional since then. CPDI and SBRC are planning to arrange a media briefing and demand for immediate local government elections in KP
